• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Beautiful guitar..such a great burst!
Thanks, I liked the Larry Carlton burst but I prefer the trapeze tail piece on the ES guitars. Acoustically they give off a banjo type sound but plugged in I don't notice a difference in sound. Trapeze make the strings a little looser because of the break angle not as sharp. I'm a huge Alex Lifeson fan and his guitars have the trapeze. Mine has been re - fretted. I also have a 68 ES 335 in tobacco sunburst and a 67 ES 355 that is going to be refinished in cream white like Lifeson's.

wow...congrats i'm happy for you! I can't imagine many, if any, have the chance to see this much diversity of years so close together. My immediate thought would be that a video or something with you playing or just sharing what subtle differences you see in your collection. Crazy idea i know, mainly i just hope you enjoy the crap out of them!

Congrats! nice collection....... not a fan of the trapeze I see.... except for the Bigsby ...... I prefer the maestro vibrato. Those old Bigsby's look like a kitchen appliance from the 50's or a motorcycle kickstand ;)

You know...sometimes you find a really cool geetar that you really want and it has a Bigsby. So even if you aren't a Bigsby fan, you go for it! (y)

Hey folks, I realize I'm late to the ballpark... and what a great thread!!!

I've had two ES-335s in the past, and currently own an ES-345.

I owned the 1979 ES-335CRR in the 1980s and 90s, when, despite my younger age, I was not playing that much. I remember I sold it to Outlaw Guitars in the late '90s.

I had this 1967 ES-335 for about 8 years, and I sold it at a loss when I was out of work. It was really nice, although I wasn't a fan of the narrow nut. The 2003 Strat it is with in the photo I really wish I'd kept. I got a cheap used MIM Strat later on and, while it's OK and worth the cheap $$, it certainly does not feel or sound as good.

This is the Memphis (2011) ES-345 I have had for the last ten years. Stock, and I absolutely love it. I pick it up every day just to hear the damn thing. It has the two output jacks on the rim - which Memphis did from 2002 through 2012, before they started the '59 and '64 reissues.

Lots of beautiful guitars in this thread! I have always liked the way 335s sound and hang when playing. I have had a few come and go over the years.
Right now I have the 2 below. The cherry burst is an 84 that I got in 85. The blonde is a 2016 58RI. Neither is going anywhere anytime soon.
