Shielding cans on 1967 ES ?

Just a quick question.
Is it possible that 1967 ES guitars had no shielding cans around the pots ?

Was the use of those cans stopped at any date ?

In 1967, ES 335s had no cans. In fact, ES 335s never had cans.
However, ES 345s, 350s, 355s, Byrdlands, L5s, and Super 400s did have them.
I don't believe that Gibson ever stopped using them.
I don't know about the others.
