• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Strangely, it's never had the same 'kudos' as its full scale spruce top bretheren, but they such a fine guitar.

Anyone got a '50's Alnico one? Actually, any year will suffice - and tell us how they play and sound - which amp they sound best through etc...

Beautiful, looks pristine. By the way the motor city mad man is going to be interviewed this evening 2030 hours, 8:30 PM on HDNET.

Mike - that is one fine Byrd. Looks Pristine.

I've noticed a few early '70's ones about - they don't have the dreaded volute. Did Gibson spruce archtops during the Norlin era ever have volutes?

Nice one Mike! Looks clean enough to be new!

Any chance of a back shot? I can see some flame poking up through the f-hole...

It's not mine, but it's a cool one, Ted Nugent's, very roadworn but sounds great.

As always, thanks Mike!

But, it looks like someone dragged a razor blade across the back!?!?!? :laugh2:

Kidding aside, those are some really neat check marks on the back. Nice!

The checking actually doesn't look that pronounced when you are looking at the guitar in person, but the flash accentuates everything! :2cool
