Lincoln Brewster signed it a few years ago. He played at our church and needed a backup strat.

I provided it,and he signed it for me. Pretty good trade off.

Classy looking '60 Cunetto you've got there redisburning. I'm sure it sounds fantastic, and worth
every penny you paid for it. VERY nice!

I keep one Strat. It was originally a Hwy1 that I bought new for $500. Since I've replaced the neck (big USACG one piece maple boat neck with 7-1/4-9-1/2" compound radius fretboard and 6105 frets), pickups (underwound Fralin Vintage Hot), bridge (Callaham), pickguard, pots and tuners, there's not a lot of Fender left! It's a great guitar!

How do you like that Callaham bridge? Thinking of one for my mongrel '73 Strat.

It's a pretty big improvement over the one that came with it. Better snap on the low notes. The arm is nice and snug, too. It's quite a bit more expensive than when I bought mine eight or nine years ago!

That's a very nice looking guitar Don. I bet with all those upgrades, it sounds incredible.

I have only one Strat, and besides a nearly identical '59 I've played, it's the best one I've ever played. Oddly enough, it's a Mexican Road Worn 50s Strat that's all stock except for a steel tremolo block. Something about the way it's finished, the neck shape, and the sound is just exactly what I look for in a Strat. I've owned a Custom Shop Strat and a Scott Walker Strat style and this is by far my favorite. I looked all around Nashville to find a Strat in any price range that I liked as much and couldn't find one. She's a keeper, that's for sure!

SB127 - Nice pic of a great guitar. I've always liked those RW's. I missed the 1st run and when they came out on the 2nd run,
they were way more expensive.

I'm still waiting to run into one at a pawnshop for a gimme price. The weird things is guys aren't
letting these guitars go.

I have heard these guitars are fantastic after getting a good fret dressing.

Thanks. It does sound great. I like a Strat to be on the warmer, sweeter side and this one is that way. It's super comfy to play, too. It didn't cost a lot, either. I sold the original neck for what I paid for the USACG neck and I already owned the Fralin pickups. The Callaham bridge was only about $100 back then.

67 that's an amazing collection of relics. You've got a really sweet group of strats right there. I love to spend a day with ALL those beauties.

Thanks! I've been buying them since '97, starting with that 'nocaster; the 3T sunburst sounds the best, followed closely by the Daphne/Sonic blue. The metallic finishes have a slightly higher sizzle / more high end but in all honesty they all sound and play fantastic.

Just got my 95 mim strat refinished couple days before christmas, same color but nitro. I played the neck in raw condition for a few years and now I finished it, but the wood has been stained from my hands. The buckle rash was a result from one week of playing it standing

Here's my other strat, MIM that I picked up from GC years ago; I kept seeing it but really had no need for a MIM strat. That said, it has the nicest flame maple neck...I think someone screwed up at the factory and put the wrong neck on this guitar. A few months pass, GC had marked it down for Christmas but never marked it back up. The salesman tells me "oh....we can't sell it at that price."
Why not? It's marked!
"We forgot to raise the price after Christmas, these sell for much more."
Not my problem - I'm paying the price as marked.
So I got it for $189.00!
What to do with a MIM strat? Pay homage to THE MAN!!! I poured over every single shot I could find of his original b&w strat, painted her myself and here you go!

The back was hard cause there aren't too many shots of the back of his guitar.

Yes, I know, it should have a maple neck but, it is what it is and I prefer r/w anyway so it worked out just fine! I've gigged with it, she's a decent guitar but no match for those Cunetto's, that's for sure!

Tarcisioo - That's awesome. I so cool to see a MIM Strat get so much loving. I hear a lot of guys say they'd never play a MIM. I think some are as good a MIA. I had 3 last year that I sold. I HAD to purge. I sold off 27 guitars.

Anyway, that guitar came out great .

67BC - That is a sweet looking guitar. It exudes ROCK for sure. If it sounds as good as it looks, you've got a keeper.

When I took the finish out, I found out there was a very thin veneer back and top. I never understood why a solid black guitar would need a veneer. Neither why a 3 pieces guitar would need a veneer, as it has been very common all along Fender history, since Leo's period. Blackie and Brownie are 3 pieces. The onkly original parts are wood parts and frets. Every other little thing are top notch Fender products. I don't know if it was the most wise thing to do, put so much money on a not so worthy guitar, but man, that neck vibrates like it's on electricity
