• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

here is my strat

Fender_01.jpg

early '90's SRV neck, 62 RI body, Fralin vintage hots, all Callaham hardware. Gotoh locking tuners.

I got 1 of each length trem arm from Callaham, it's cool to mix & match. I think I like the medium the best though

I guess I'm a little late to the party. 2014 Custom Shop 60th Anniversary 1954 Reissue.

My Mexican '98 Jimmie Vaughan. RS kit and mint pickguard. The rest is stock. Taken some beating since this pic, but I love the pickups and the neck profile. Besides my Gibsons, this is the guitar that needs to be in my live setup. Also I don't need my Strat to be a CS, as it's a workhorse. The Gibsons are more refined, so that's were I go "higher" :peace2

Black Road Worn 50's body with 90's CIJ neck and 57/62 pickups
Inca Silver Road Worn body with 80's MIJ neck and CS 69 pickups
The Edge signature Strat

The CIJ/MIJ necks are both labeled STB-67 on the heel. They are super-narrow at the nut (40mm) and have tiny vintage frets.

Since the pic was taken, the temporary black graphtec nut on the silver strat has been replaced with a white bone nut.

For the first time in recent memory I'm down to one Strat - gasp!! Haha. But it's a good one. This is the one guitar that I'd run back into a burning building to save though (knock on wood). Complete mutt - '99 American Standard that I had to get a new neck for eventually because the original one developed a nasty warp. Custom Shop '69 pickups. It was my first "real" guitar though. I remember the day I bought it - I was walking through GC and they had about 20 of these sitting on stands at the front of the store - they were on sale because (if I remember correctly) the new "American SERIES" was about to come out. I guess this one just called to me like a rescue dog.... :)

My Jeff Beck inspired strat, with some nice specs. This was always a dream of mine to do. I wanted a big, fat, clear tone, and i got it. Musikraft Fender licensed O/W alder body and quartersawn maple neck 10-12 compound radius. Clay markers, jumbo frets. Jeff Beck heel. LSR nut. Bare Knuckles EVHII pu's. '50's wiring, PIO cap and calibrated pots. Gotoh vintage style locking + staggered tuners. Killswitch. A braz fingerboard and a modded Bladerunner trem (correct steel block, s/steel arm and KTS titanium saddles)!

I have only one Strat, and besides a nearly identical '59 I've played, it's the best one I've ever played. Oddly enough, it's a Mexican Road Worn 50s Strat that's all stock except for a steel tremolo block. Something about the way it's finished, the neck shape, and the sound is just exactly what I look for in a Strat. I've owned a Custom Shop Strat and a Scott Walker Strat style and this is by far my favorite. I looked all around Nashville to find a Strat in any price range that I liked as much and couldn't find one. She's a keeper, that's for sure!

Yep, they rock.:yah
