• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi,

Does anyone happen to know the weight of the sideways trem/vibrola from Gibson?

I've found an SG that weighs 3.00kg (6lbs 10z) with the sideways vibrola on and I'm in disbelief that it could be accurate, now I'm wondering how much it would weigh with the trem removed.
The lightest I can find elsewhere is 2.92kg (6lbs 7oz) but that was already with a stoptail and no sideways trem.

Wondering if it could even get down to 6lbs 6oz if swapped to a stop tail...
