• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Since I couldn't trust the big brown truck...(mega flametop content)...

So, because I couldn't trust the big brown truck (or the white one) to deliver this baby safely, a few weeks ago I decided to drive 600 miles round trip to meet up with my buddy Rob (lpflametop), who was kind enough to part with this POS (thanks Rob!). You've probably already seen pics of this from Rob in this thread: http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165280 And I've got to say, in person, the top is absolutely amazing, and very 3D. And yes, it plays as good as it looks!

So, without further ado, let me re-introduce, under new ownership, El Diablo (please, those who don't like the look of flame, please hit the "back" button now):

Thanks so much for all the nice comments, guys!

I find it interesting that some of you refer to it as a quilt top. It's a very complex top for sure. When the light source is coming from the knob side, as in the case of the top 6 photos, to me it looks like a wild flametop. When the light source is coming from the other side, it definitely does take on more of a quilt top vibe. Whatever it is, though, I'm very happy with it.

And yes, Mike, I'll take very good care of it...I promise! :)
