You ever play an R9? Same shit
A few of em :) and they don t all feel / sound the same… then it is down to personnal preference. Personnally i love the art of aging, and replicating famous guitars, but that is not everyone’s cup of tea…

Curious if Brandon from Brandonwound created the pups for these models? He was brought in right before they creat

I may buy a ML of it IF I can play it first. $50k for a replica? You’re an idiot with money to throw. Why not sell them for $20k and skip the fly over, meet n greet with Kirk and the photo op? That’s where the $30k is. Cause a braz board ML is what? 18-20k MSRP? Not like it’ll sound like Greeny. I’m betting they use Brandonwound PUPs in it. Not just reg custombuckers. For $50k I’d expect old growth mahogany at minimum.
I'm Jared Brandon the previous owner of Brandonwound. I'm on the developmet team at Gibson focused on pickups. We at Gibson developed the Greeny pickups. Not Brandonwound. :)

Nice! Hoping the Greeny pickups are a sign that Gibson will drop the A III magnets.

yeah but these ones are green, jus like a green back dollar !!
Hey, I read that G are going to be raising their prices again by say 20% or so ??
Duh. Inevitable. The “cheaper” Greeny will be $20k lol

You can get a green R9 for cheaper than Greeny. Hell, you can probably find a close enough top on M2M and send off to HM and have it aged like Greeny for cheaper with a braz board.

No they’re not ALL the same. Just like every 59 is different. I like the look of aging as well. But I’m not going to spend $50k for an R9 that you can buy for $10-12k heavy aged by Smurf lab

Hahaha that’s what I meant man. I knew you went over to Gibbyland. I figured you did have something to do with. Will those same pups be installed in thr 2023 Greeny guitars as well?

I heard the 2023 Greeny allocations are landing soon and have Indian Rosewood fingerboards.

Sounds about right. Not worth price of admission. Kirk Hammet, Green, Moore’s names attached, add $10k to the price. A ML heavy ultra aged is what? $12k MSRP? A fool and his money soon part ways

I understand you absolutely do NOT need Brazilian rosewood to have an amazing guitar, but for a replica of a 59 burst priced north of $20k to not have it is unacceptable.

I think Gibson missed the mark with this one. And if history is any indicator, they'll just release an "even greenier" version a year or three down the road and this one will be another bag holder guitar. But if you're a buyer and it floats your boat, enjoy.

Exactly. If I’m spending $20k on new? It BETTER have braz board. They’re profiting on this one immensely as well. I guess they’ll make 100 of these? The $50k edition only has a braz board to differentiate from this one 🤣🤣🤣

Pict is from a place in Miami from late 2022. The guy said that they got five and sold five right away. He could have been full of it, but that is their shop in the picture.

That's Miami Guitars in the photo, the rug was the giveaway.

Were those the $50k versions with Brazilian, since it was in 2022?
Hah! Good catch. I was not trying to hide that, just didn't think about it. I really do not know what version. They were bragging about selling some on FB, and I was ribbing Miles about it, and he upped the "show off" ante with the picture.

Expensive $20-50k, it’s more a collectors piece.

You don’t need a Rolex to tell time but if you love watches & have the scratch go for it.
