I picked up 2 of those Jim Root Orange 2X12 cabinets marked down to half price here in Bali. They have those Orange Voice of America speakers in them.

Gotta say, they really are not that bad. I dropped 2 Creamback 75s into one and added a Celestion Anniversary into the other and I honestly could not tell that much of a difference.

I did upgrade my Seventy 80s to Creamback 75s in a Tech 21 and wow, huge difference. The Seventy 80s are trash if you are thinking about getting them or replacing them in something. Do it! No regrets there.

Hats off to Orange though as these budget 2X12 cabinets with Voice of America speakers are pretty dang good. Don’t hesitate to recommend for the price at all.

My Friedman JJ sounds best through the 2 Vintage 30s in the open back cabinet and a Voice of America paired with Celestion Anniversary in a closed cabinet on the bottom.

I did try other speaker combos in the open back with my JJ and the open back sounded the best with the Vintage 30s by a long shot. Surprised me.

MojoTone sent me one of their new Greyhound 70w speakers - I think it sounds amazing in a 1x12 setup with my JTM45. A solid 10/10

Did you buy it and pay shipping, or is there an affiliation whereby they ‘send’ you items to review?
Is there an Eminence sticker on the side of the magnet on this speaker? Or…is Mojo having someone else build this one?

Neither, I won it in a contest. I couldn't tell you much else as far as it's original manufacturer goes. But with no affiliation I am a big fan.

Cool. Always tinkering with speakers. Thanks for the recommendation. I do not know speakers that well outside the Celestion line up. I only paid $350 for those Orange Cabinets with the idea to the Voice of America speakers out and put my favorite Creamback 75s in as I like the cabinet construction.

I had no expectations of the Voice of America Speakers, but they literally exceeded my expectations and I kind of wondered if it was worth it to spend another $275 to upgrade to the Creambacks. If you are doing drop D, rock like music, I think the Voice of Americas are great in the closed back cabinet. I did not try them in the open back.

I am actually going to hire someone to build a 4X12 over the use those Voice of America Speakers for live performances.

I'm definitely no expert on speakers, but 'they say' a V30 and a Greenback is a nice combo in a 2x12.

Greenbacks are nice, but I lean toward the Creamback 75 because it matches the Vintage 30 in efficiency. Both are 100db. The Greenback I believe is 98. Still close though. The Anniversary and the Creamback 75 are both great matches for the Vintage 30 from an efficiency standpoint.

Congratulations!

Every modern Eminence speaker I have seen, whether OEM, aftermarket, or a Mojo labelled speaker, has had a grey label
on the side of the magnet. I am just curious to know if Mojo is still using .em8nence to build their speakers or if they have branched out to use of another maker.
