Stainless steel strap button screws

Anyone have a source for quality #8-32 S/S wood screws? I'm installing Schaller strap locks and want to duplicate the stainless screws of my stock R59. They are 8-32 x 1-1/2", stainless steel, rounded flat head, phillips. The Schallers come with #6-32 x 1, alloy steel, so I will need to mod the 8-32s per "Danelectro's" specs.

I don't want to use soft-steel zinc plated crap.

Going to order Gibson strap buttons/w screws.

You do realize that one screw is fatter than the other one, right? It's only the No. 8 screw for the tail pin that you have to modify; the #6 screw from the upper bout pin will fit in the schaller strap lock (although you'll be driving it further into the guitar since it sits deeper in the strap lock button). Take both to a hardware store and match them up. By the way I've never seen wood screws called out with a thread-pitch ("-32") like a machine screw.

You are right about the machine screw ref. I work with machine screws so I'm used to saying 8-32, 1/4-20, etc. Good catch!

What I am most interested in is the screw material. Stock is stainless. Hard to find (for me) in a wood screw.

So, got the Gibson replacement buttons and screws. One #6, and one #8, S/S, but only 1-1/4 long. Good enough for me. I ordered another set to get the second #8 as my R59 came with 8 x 1-1/2 on both the bout and tail.

Modded two #8's from Gibson replacement buttons (just few bucks each from Sweetwater) and I'm satisfied. I would have preferred 1-1/2 long screws instead of 1-1/4, but the quality metal is more important. Stainless is the only way to go.
