• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Stayed in the whole day- some EJ on my R9

Hi folks,

Just sharing another video. Stayed home the whole day and thought I'd do a guitar marathon.

Not very patent applied for, but a good les paul can do anything!

For those familiar and not so familiar with EJ, please go listen to Venus Isle- it is a masterpiece.

And again, always thanks for watching.

Very nice! Great to finally see someone on here playing well without flopping a boob over their guitar :spabout

Very nice. Fantastic playing, tone, and technique! It's good to see someone else out there playing a 2061x like I do! What overdrive and echo pedals were you using on this song?

Thanks for the kind comments and feedback everyone. Much appreciated :salude

BGReed, that's a beautiful LP. R8? Show me more! I want another LP so bad...

Regarding the 2061x, I'm so sorry to disappoint you but it was a just a backdrop for this...needs new power tubes and I couldn't risk it! Don't worry the tubes are on the way. JJs...cheap, but like ErnieBall strings, they work and they're everywhere and I go through these stuff pretty quick.

What I would have done: LP -> choice of Tubescreamer/fuzzface (for strat)/mxr fet driver -> 2061x (channels jumped, dimed except for bass volume on 8) -> dynamic mic off center, cheap condenser mic in room, apogee duet, post mic compression, 400ms tape delay, slight plate reverb. All just to "supplement" the 2061x and not neuter it.

Instead what I had to do was just go through a logic preset direct- this is just the guitar and the computer you are hearing. The above ethos applies though :)

This is my pedalboard for when I used to play out not so long ago. Then the marshall I have set at lead vol/tone : 8/8, bass vol/tone : 10 : 7. No jumping channels and just plugging into the upper bass channel input. Gives me clean with breakup for the more saturated sounds I can get by goosing the amp.

I just sold my 2061x. Your pic makes me remorseful.

I am a big EJ fan, saw him last year in Hartford Connecticut. His live music now is sublime.

Nice work on your interpretation!
