• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I like the idea with a house on the island, there won't be neighbours who will call the police because of the noise, and also no one will steal your instruments, ha-ha. To be serious, if have so many expensive musical instruments, a security system is required for sure. People know that everything related to music costs a lot of money, and you never know who can invade your house and try to steal them. Security should be in the first place, not only of your instruments, but yours and your family as well.

I would not trust homemade security systems. A friend of mine installed Ajax in his office. The core of this wireless security system is a central unit - the hub. It is already a system that is fully ready to work and can be expanded and subsequently modified by additional sensors. To get into the office, employees need access cards, which my friend ordered through duplicatecard.com. And Ajax also has a solid selection of other sensors. The option with the safe is not bad either, but you can't hide all the equipment in it.

I have cameras at my studio. They’re outside and inside. As long as you have an internet connection they work great. I get an alert if anyone goes on the property. It records and saves everything (no fee for that) and they were pretty cheap.

I bought them maybe three Black Fridays ago and added a couple more cameras. I think it’s called Arlo.

Good afternoon. I play in a band. We own a small apartment where we store all our instruments. That apartment is on the first floor of a building and the windows are not protected It is easier to keep them there instead of bringing them to that place every time we meet. We started to think about our base security. Looking for any reliable reviews on the security systems we can install. I suppose we need a fire alarm, motion sensors, and cameras. It would be great to have an opportunity to remote control through the app. We will consider both DIY and professional options. But, the pro system is better. Our friend recommended Ajax. Does anyone use it? Please, share your experience.

Wyze cameras are great, and cheap. $30-35 for a camera instead of $129 and they've got security monitoring, etc... I've had them covering all angles of my home for the last 3+ years. They were only like $20 or 25 when they were released. So I was able to buy 5 cameras for the price of 1 ring doorbell camera.

5 cameras allowed me to cover every corner of my house and 1 inside covering the front door. They even have cameras that pan 360 degrees, controllable in the app, so you can literally follow people around your yard/house/whatever. With automatic tracking, it'll even do it by itself.

IMO wyze is the best value in cameras. They don't have all of the gadgets that Ring has. They have what's needed and that keeps their cost low, I believe. I recommend them to anyone looking for cameras unless they need all those extra options that Ring has.

Wyze also has window sensors, movement sensors, water leak detectors, etc...as well as other smart devices to work together with their cams. You should check them out at www.wyze.com

Below is a screen grab from one of my cams. That's with no night vision on. It has some ambient light detection thing that can use the smallest amount of light to illuminate the entire scene. Stand in the front yard and it's much, much, much darker than what this shows. Their 1st Gen cams only had B&W night vision, which needs a lot of light to work correctly. I'll also post one of those for comparison.
