• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Sure. One winder is James Finnerty at ReWind. He makes great pickups!

He also co-wrote an excellent book...

I have a Brandenwound T-Top Replica. Significantly cheaper than getting a used T-Top. I dropped it in a 1972 Les Paul Custom which had an original neck pickup but a Duncan Distortion bridge and I'm very pleased with it.

I believe the guy behind them is now working with the Gibson Custom Shop on their pickup lines now too.

Thanks!
I noticed that Gibson is also producing the T-Type pickup. Any one know about these?

It seems that an original late 60's T-Top are in the 400 dollar range
Wow! Prices have gone up….

It’s still relatively good value, as I’m sure they will continue to increase.

Only that you'll find them in a lot of Memphis ES3xx guitars. Never had a chance to play them I'm afraid.

FYI: T-Types are not found in Memphis factory-built ES guitars. Memphis ES came with Memphis Historic Specification (MHS) pickups developed under Mike Voltz's team, and they are of different specifications. Some divided opinions exists on both pickup designs, but I appreciate both for what they bring to the ES line!

T-Types were introduced in conjunction with the ES line being relocated to Nashville, along with a re-fresh of ES molds and overall construction. T-Types were designed under Jim DeCola, Gibson's 'Master Luthier' just as the new 70s Tribute pickups that came out with the new Designer Series Explorer and Flying Vs, this is all post-HJ era under new management / KKR ownership i.e. the 'KKR-era'.

MHS are no longer made, not available anymore apart from secondary market, while the T-Types along with other new creations are being made available as accessories in the Gibson Pickup Shop as of this year.

I'll 2nd for Brandonwound. Got a set of his Jimmy Page pups with a PAF neck and T-top clone bridge. Probably the best buckers I've ever played and the PAF and T-tops compliment each other nicely.
