Playing with photoshop backgrounds. lol--Looks like the tuning pegs are missing.

Anyway, I am not disappointed with this beauty. I played it through my Vox AC30, and it was good, but it really came alive with my 2008 Fender Deluxe.

It has got that 'Space Cadet Glow' ... sign of a real player!

There you go. I've got a Deluxe Reverb and the two just go together. Lots of studio player consider the Deluxe Reverb to be the universal soldier with an ES-335. The 5E3 Tweed Deluxe also does really well, but when I began using a modeler more for sessions, I found the Deluxe Reverb model to be the most versatile starting point for me.

I use a '64 Deluxe Reverb most of the time. Magic with a 335. Tweed (for me) just goes to mush with any Gibson. A magical mush for recording things like those David Lindley type fills on Late for the Sky) but for a full gig, the Deluxe is just so sweet.

Interestingly enough, three guys pushed me towards the ES-335: Joe Walsh, The late great Will Owsley, and Warren Haynes. Walsh used it around 1975-77. You can hear it on "Turn to Stone" from the album So What?

Will Owsley used it and a Gretsch 6150 interchangeably (and hilariously) on an Amy Grant live album and got some great tones.

And in the Allman Brothers, Warren reached for one of his two ES-335s whenever he needed a prettier, smoother sound than his LPs got.

He and Dickie Betts got the smoothest sounds from their red 335s!

Looking for some advice on a Gibson ES 345.... I've been wanting to add a 345 to my collection. I have a few ES guitars....
They all have the trapeze tail pieces which I prefer... and of course the thinner nut widths etc...
So I want to change it up and get a 345 with stop tailpiece and normal early 60's (Les Paul) nut width.
I'm not really all that familiar with the newer re- issue ES stuff. To get the wide nut width on the early vintage 60's guitars is really expensive and the Canadian dollar is at an all time low! The few I've looked at all needed new frets. So I was thinking at this point get a re-issue that's a few years old in VOS finish without the 'vintage' issues.... anybody got any suggestions... I saw a 2020 ES 345 that looked nice....
much appreciated.

You would probably get more responses if you started a new threat about this, and you'll probably get some good information that way. Cheers.

The early 2000s ES-335s with the slim taper necks had nice, wide fingerboards and jumbo frets. Lovely, Just Lovely. Mine is a 2005 DOT Reissue.

I love clear finishes on 335s and all the semis and hollow bodies. Both of those are beautiful.

I've got mine sitting in my living room. And I've been playing the bejeeburz out of it. Strangely enough, playing the 335 has also increased my love for my Les Paul, with which I've had a on/off again affection for. My two other Gibsons, the Explorer and SG Special, are wonderful too. I'd say I'm a "Gibson guy," but I love my other guitars so much that although I ought to pare my collection, I can't bear to lose but one: a 1983 lefty Ibanez Artist that I've put on Reverb. It's crafted in Japan, and it's a wonderful guitar, but my Les Paul is more of the sound I like.IMG_6687.jpeg
