• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

View attachment 20421I bought this for my wife the day Susan's margins came ashore clear , ourmaninthenorth -Audrey & Paul a large inspiration for me now I know the meaning of a great day, So all my Forum brethren have a Great Day !!!!!!
You hear that Victor? That was Audrey and I cheering Susan and You ashore.

May the band never stop playing.

For Us all.

I'm glad the Grace under Fire thread provided some inspiration, I learnt how to do it from the Man we're celebrating in this very thread.

Arm full of steel to match his balls......

Great pictures! I should get some of mine taken. Audrey is the bee's knee's and Paul is Guv!

I'm done, almost all gone. Chemo every other week till the end. Still am a good lookin' old fart but utterly useless at this point. What remains of my boneless left arm is useless. I'll never be able to play guitar again. Sure, now that I have all this gear!!!! Wonder what's in store, it sure is taking its sweet time.

I love the pics though!!!!!!

The other night, while watching a movie, I told my wife, " Honey, this cancer is going to be the death of me!". She burst out laughing and called me a dark joker and showed there was still some Big Al left in me.

Nice of her to react to my lame humour, but that guy has gone. I am just taking up space and everything is out of my hands. Merely existing is not living when you have always lived large. I cannot be me. Comming to terms with my new reality is frustrating and proving to be a challenge. Lots of frequent readjustment as things are changing quickly.

Still like seeing beloved gear though. No matter how humble or under appreciated, I know how useful and inspiring they can be. There is power in gear such as this. That is why I like it when you share it. All of it but especially the stuff you use, have used and love.

Glad you are at some level still "Big Al". Some say just being able to joke and write about it the way you do is pretty freakin' big.

carry on.

Gear that's loved... In my daily rack of guitars, is my 1960 strat with a brand new Ace strap just like Hendrix used at Woodstock. I had one back in the early 70s and the colors were more vivid. The red was way brighter BITD. Sort of toned down, but still very cool. It's red, and there's my old red 335 there...

I had a 63 burst I just loved. I love single coils and Fenders are part of my DNA. I still own a few Strats and Teles and a whole bunch of Fender amps. My favorite Fender was a mint 62 CAR jaguar, Seymour custom wound the pickups and wired it so the Strangle switch to a phase switch, which functioned on either control plate selected, bottom parallel or top series. The upper control with the wheel vol. and tone pots put the pickups in series for a big spanky humbucker. Similar to the Baja Tele. My favorite guitarand most missed
Yummy! I cannot help but smile around Customs, but Black Beautys make me moist!

Scot, that Jaguar was hands down the best Fender I've owned. Most comfortable fit and Semour out did himself with the pickups and wiring. I just gave it to him and said "Whatever you want to do, just make it Great." Phil Kubicki put in jumbo frets and did his amazing offset set up. The whammy was perfect, it played so good. I'd give almost anything to get it back.

I'd be in the zone just taking it for quick spin. Can you tell I'm a child of the 60s? CAR and switches plus killer PUPs... Can I order 2 please?
