• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

The Boston thread got me to thinking...

Now that you mention it, I knew Fleetwood Mac did that too. I think those gray cells migrated to my hair.

Actually...the first version I heard was the one by the Rockets. Was that album called "Rocket Roll"? It was a pretty good album and their version of "Oh Well" was a minor hit. It wasn't until a few years ago that I got into the old PG Fleetwood Mac. Which is kinda strange since I'm 43. Also, I hadn't heard any other version of "Black Magic Woman" other than Santana's until a few years ago. And I gotta admit...even though FM's version is superior...I still like Santana's version quite a lot.

Speaking of Santana...

Now there's a distinctive tone form the 70's. Everyone...even people who don'tplay guitar recognize his sound.

Lindsey Buckingham solo towards the end of Go Your Own Way. He mostly played a white Gibson Les Paul Custom and a Fender Stratocaster, both of which had tunings by Rick Turner who was also Lindsey’s guitar technician.
