I'm a dog man. And this guy has been my friend for the last 11 years.

Nice dogs!

No dog here, but you'd never know it because the walkers sure do like my lawn and make regular stops. :)

A neighbor has a Labridoodle puppy. Boy that dog sure is cute.

Here's Boo!, who was pictured above with his late sister. He just got out of the vet hospital and is doing better after a blocked intestine. Here, I'm sitting on a backyard swing throwning his "horrible pig" (six-inch long ribber pig with a squeaker) to him. In this shot I tossed it overhead onto the little awning over the swing and he is staring intensely, waiting for me to "free the pig" and let him catch it.

When it comes to retrieval, Boo! is all in. There is nothing except the pig... nothing gets in his way. His handiwork is pictured behind him: that fire pit has been wiped out repeatedly as he went for a retrieve and you can see the bent rail and foot it sports to prove his intensity. Boo! was sold to us thirteen and a half years ago as purebred Labrador retriever but I think a Great Dane got in the pile somewhere because he is all muscle, rangy and strong. He is also our empath, and runs to comfort anyone who is hurt or coughs the least bit.

That is, except me, when he is retrieving. He is all buisiness then. Yesterday I was throwing for him and in his competitive spirit he tried, and failed, to grab the pig as it left my hand on a toss. That is too say he missed his timing and clamped down on MY HAND instead. Besides feeling like I stuck my hand in a hydraulic press, I immediately began to bleed like a sieve because I take a blood thinner. The turkey was only interested in the whereabouts of his precious pig!

Our pooch, Violet, also has a thing for "Mr. Squeaky." She'll challenge me to game of "catch me if you can" at least once a day, running through the house like a maniac with Mr. Squeaky in her mouth, squeaking away. She also loves grabbing him right before each meal and biting and shaking the crap out of him. Man, that is one tough toy -- she'd torn the squeakers out of every other toy we've given her, typically in less than 10 minutes lol. But Mr. Squeaky's been in service for a good 3 months at this point (came from Costco in a box with 4 or 5 other squeak toys). I think I've got a video of this...will try to upload if I can find it.

We have three rescues
SaraLee is almost 16 and is a Collie mix. Shes also a parvo survivor. She has osteoarthritis and is slowly going slower.
Watson is a Rough Collie mix. He’s almost six. He was severely abused and is still shy. Loud noises upset him
Armina is a Terrier and a very smart dog that acts totally stupid on occasion. She’s about two

Watson is the brother that is protective of his sisters. The three of them are very close

I don’t know how to post pix here or I’d put up some

A house without a pet is not a home
