• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Clapton is in my top 5 performers/guiitarists, and Layla is one of my top 5 fave albums. I listen to Clapton a lot. Blasphemy: My second favorite Clapton album is PILGRIM, much overlooked album he ever did. "One Chance", "Going Down Slow," "Pilgrim"--soooooo wonderful.

Portishead and Sergio Leone/Ennio Morricone spaghetti western stuff....to cop some of those vibes for a new tune my mates and I are working on.

I've been listening to different stuff each day. Wherever the muse takes me.

Right now it's Dylan's Greatest Hits vII on vinyl, because I scored a clean copy yesterday at a record store.

I do vinyl in my home office while I work because it forces me to get up and move around (turn the record over) at least once every 22 minutes. :)

I get the Grateful Dead Channel on Sirius and I can access it through my phone so that's usually what's on. The Dead recorded pretty much every show they did so besides the usual album cuts you get concerts and some deep deep tracks like El Paso or Baba O'Riley which is fun. I heard them do a fun cover of the Isley Brother's Hard to Handle yesterday.

Sometimes when the mood hits me I'll bop over to Radio Margaritaville for some island flavor.

Sérgio, I am a Clatpon nut. My fave 3 guitarists? 1. George H, or course. 2nd, Clapton and Gilmour equally.

I recently got a remastered copy of Led Zeppelin III, it's been in my car stereo for at least a month now. Granted I probably only use my car a couple times a week but I've been really getting into Sir Page's production/engineering work. Continuously hearing new things. Sum of the parts is greater than the whole, kind of thing going on there. Soon I'll be rolling my new Montrose CD "Montrose". That album has been on my radar for damn close to 50 years and I've never owned my own copy of it in any media.

I have an original Led Zeppelin III album with the volvelle (wheel chart) album cover. Subsequent releases removed the spinning insert.

That was one of the cool things about vinyl albums: cover art was part of the package!

I had the Sticky Fingers album with the real zipper. Can't find it in my stash, however...

I started playing my Höfner at 8am, even before I had coffee. I was still a zombie wolf.

Fred and Dan: I used to own the Sticky Fingers with the zip fly too, as well as a Velvet Underground and Nico with the peeling banana. Lost them decades ago and had to buy reissues. I still own a couple of 1977 Led Zep albums, though, which sound quite nice.

Yeah I like Clapton a lot, too. Especially the Cream years. But I own a couple of LPs of his own stratty era.

Physical Graffiti originally had cut out windows that the sleeves had images for, if I recall correctly. I'm pretty sure I still have my original copy. I have a Sticky Fiingers with the zipper I bought from a guy unloading after he went all in on CDs 30 something years ago.

I'm hoping I can set up a stereo with my turntable at the new house. I have the speakers, receiver and high end CD player, dual well tape deck. I haven't had a proper listening space since the '80s

We could start a whole thread on album cover art! Some of mine:

Rolling Stones: Satanic Majesties Request (with the hologram on the cover)
Velvet Underground featuring Nico (with the peelable banana)
Jethro Tull: Stand up (when you open the cover, the band members "stand up")
John Lennon: The Wedding Album (the album was a throwaway, but it came in a box with all sorts of goodies in it!)
The Beatles: Abbey Road (my early release did not list "Her Majesty" on either the jacket or the label. But it was there)

I probably have some more. Those are the ones that just came to mind.

Album covers are such a cool subject.

I have loads of fun with this book, I “met” many bands through it

The house we're about to buy, belonged to the family of a long time friend. Many moons ago, in his basement rec room, we took the rolling paper from a Cheech and Chong 'Big Bamboo' album and rolled a joint with about 3/4 of an ounce of cleaned weed. We smoked that thing for about 5 hours and still couldn't finish it. We were going to finish it the next night but one of the kids with us stole the roach. Rat bastid
