• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

The odd couple. What's in your closet?

An '81 natural korina Moderne reissue paired with a Les Paul acoustic/electric in black burst.
The Marshall head is a 2061x with Mercury iron.
The cab is a 1x12 Avatar with a Celestion gold.

With some of Rays44's :salude

Is that a Les Paul Acoustic?

Yes. Here's a closer pic.

One of the cool things about this model is the way the top was carved into a peak to form the bridge.
Another view showing the top carve.

Good to see you on here Ray! Drop me a line sometime, we can talk guitars and guns again. My e-mail addy is bmayes85 AT gmail.com

The Moderne and Les Paul Acoustic are both pretty odd on their own, so they make about as odd of a couple as you're going to get!

Circa 1935 L-75 archtop with full-size round hole. This is the final expression of Orville Gibson's vision, the last roundhole archtop model Gibson made for many years.

Front.jpg

It sounds sweet too, and works in a wide variety of musical settings. More bottom and sustain than 16 x 24.75" archtop / f-hole guitars.

L-75 is mahogany back & sides

Back.jpg

This one was ridden hard and put away wet, but it certainly sounds "played-in."

Sweet! Does this have a deep "V" neck?
BTW, I saw you have a Super Champ. How do you like it? I have a few of the Rivera era Fenders and I think they're great amps.

Yeah, classic 30s shape. Big but easy to get used to.

I've had three 30s L4/L75s over the past twenty years. This one is the ugliest but sonically it's the pick of the bunch.

Yessir, '84. Tasty unit -- sound, tone and absolute minimum size for a hand-wired amp with reverb. Any gig a Deluxe Reverb will cut the Super Champ will handle with less strain on your back. And in situations where "visual volume" is an issue, the Super Champ is your best friend!

1977 RD Custom and 1976 SG Standard. Guess the RD is the odd one, but both excel in heavy downtuned metal.:yah
