Oops, didn't think to check in here. Sunday was a cloud buster rainy day. Me and 2000 of my closest friends met at the New Hampshire Superspeedway for a mass vaccination. Apparently they gave 8000 people their first shots this weekend. Apart from a sore shoulder for Sunday and Monday, I've little effects. Most are from sleep deprivation. I seldom sleep well when I know I have to get up for something specific the next day. Saturday night was the vax the next day, Sunday night was the house inspection on Monday. My brother looked at a house last week (when I couldn't go) and put in an aggressive offer and it was accepted. I saw the house yesterday. I can see why we won the bidding war. 1958 ranch that was owned by family of long time buddy. Very DIY renovations over the years. Apart from the wiring, nothing we can't live with. And it's 2 blocks from my old house, on the other side of a park that divides the neighborhood in half. I may be back in a house inside of the next 3 months. Hellooooo, amplifiers, help me sing the songs of my people again.

Last night I slept great, the beers probably helped. Got up at the crack of noon. Been surfing all day. :D

Got both Pfizer 1 and 2. Done with that, well I guess until the next global pandemic. Before this, only Howard Hughes and Howie Mandel were germaphobes. Now everyone is.

Got the second of my shots on Tuesday afternoon, and symbolically had some fun later that evening:

Yes, I know masks will still be necessary at times, and as a result, only lit the one up for the photo. But damn, it felt so good.

Yeah masks are such a pain. But keeps the germs in and out.

I’ll second that Happy Easter and I hope all enjoy the day!

I think it is time to put the snowblower away.

Happy Easter! Long weekend for me - Took Friday and Monday off so it's a 4 day weekend for me. Taking the front porch apart so we can have a pre-cast concrete porch installed in its place. I keep forgetting I'm 67 years old - not the 45 year-old plumber in decent shape who could take on the world any time I wanted. Made some progress yesterday. I wanted to get the columns down to start. Ended up taking off the floor and stairs. My stepson is coming over for Easter dinner. I'm hoping I can get an assist to knock off more stuff today. The part that is nailed to the foundation will probably be the toughest part to remove.

Before...

Happy Easter!

Four day weekend here - weather is cool but bright and sunny. Did a few hours of motorcycling yesterday after a morning of switching my garage from winter mode to summer mode. Took off the winter tires, too. Gonna do some more riding today and have a nice ham and scalloped potato dinner tonight.

No get together or anything as we’re in lockdown, we hit a record number of new cases yesterday and vaccination rates are still in the single digits.

Not ready to take off summer tires yet. It can still get cold in April. The same with the snowblower. That can wait a couple more weeks...

Happy Easter, everyone.

Quiet Sunday at home with the wife. Had the usual gallon of coffee and spent the morning taking care of my cacti.

btw there’s a new one, native to the Mexican mountains:

That’s very true. If it snows again, at least it’ll melt quickly.

I think I've mentioned about buying a house. I saw it last week during the inspection. Deficiencies in the electrical wiring are the biggest concerns. My concern is the lack of grounding throughout the house. In 60 something years, the house has probably never had a proper electrician do any work there.

There is a 'finished' basement that is not going to stay that way. In a fashion, the amateur job makes it easier as there is no sheet rock behind the majority of the paneling. But they put a sheetrock ceiling directly on the joists in the recreation room portion, ugh. I want all that crap out of the way before we go for a full house rewiring. I'm going to have to get a job to pay for that, I think.

Winter ain't done with us yet, last weekend there was outside dining, not this weekend. March went out like a lion and the big kitty ain't done sharpening its claws on our hides.

Glad to hear you finally found something. Wiring is funny. Even licensed guys make mistakes once in a while. Good luck with the new place!

Another Sunday, another chill day. Been having summer-like weather for a week so have been doing summer-like things. Will probably spend most of the day outside today. Just taking a break right now from puttering around in the yard.

Rainy Sunday morning here. Playing a lot of blues studies, I am using the COVID break with the band to study as much as I can.

Good weather for coffee in the morning and a Bud in the evening.

The forecast was for rain today, so of course it's bright sunny and 75° (F). Went to church and then got home and spent some time weeding the back yard. Yup, the weeds have been enjoying the rain. I've been spending my guitar time learning some Eric Clapton-style acoustic riffs.

cloudy and cool after a couple of really nice days. We've put in our notice to vacate and contacted a moving company. Hopefully we have a couple weeks to start moving stuff into the house so it doesn't all have to be done in one day. After that it's empty out the storage units and put everything in the garage for now. Fingers crossed, we'll be in a house by Memorial Day Weekend.
