• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

All best on your paw, GJ. If you can make one note sound good, then you're a good player. You'll be up to three notes in no time..... ;)

Happy Sunday. Ate at a crowded restaurant for the first time last night. Felt totally weird. Being vaxxed makes you realize how far off of normal we've all been for the last year +. It's still really hard to let your guard down. I had to keep reassuring myself it would be OK.

Another quiet Sunday here. Cool and rain due soon. We’re in/heading into further lockdown tomorrow. Interprovincial borders closed, parks closed, schools online, stores curb side pickup and so on. Makes sense in one way...we’re WAY above for case counts and ICU utilization than at any point in the last 13 months. But at the same time, we have relatively low deaths per capita (compared to US/UK anyways). So no in-restaurant dining to feel weird about here! About 20% of the population has had their first dose...only 2-3% have their second.

I got my first Pfizer dose last week and the second one coming in a couple of weeks. So, I’ll be fully vaxxed well before current restrictions are eased...I don’t expect things to be anywhere near “normal” by then....

Will be firing up Logic soon and laying down some tracks for my band collaboration stuff. We’ve got three tracks on the go and more on deck.

I can't get used to being able to go back to things pre-Death Vader. I went to a restaurant last weekend, a stone over pizzaria. Place was full; maybe it had fewer tables than before. It seemed right for the room in any case. But it was so strange to go into a place to eat.

I no longer have an excuse to grow my hair long; screw an excuse. I'm nearly 60, and I'm going to grow it down to my ass if I want. I will work remotely, and I don't really give a shit what anyone thinks, sooooooo.

Me girlie and watched Rat Race last night. I put my critical hat and artsy fartsy film standards in a box, sealed it, and laughed loud and with all my teeth showing.

Doing my own guitar repairs and mods is a new hobby. I'm learning, but elecronics and woodwork are not natural talents. I've had a problem with the Ibanez Artist. I saw that a couple of wires had come lose, and they came off the pot as soon as I touched them. I resoldered them, but there's something else going on with the wiring. I wanted to do the job, but it was beyond me. I wasn't sure where to start. So I took it to the tech in Jackson, TN (jPop's Music-nice folks). I'll call him and try to learn something when he's done the job.

I was planning on a low key evening. I ate a late supper at the apartment, showered and headed out for a walk. I was passing one of my favorite places when somebody entered/exited the bar and I heard music blaring. "Whoa, they're cranking the jukebox tonight" so I decided to go see what was up. My glasses immediately fogged up (39°F, 4°C). Fairly crowded but I found a seat at the end of the bar. I could see a guitar player with an acoustic. "Boy, that backing track is pretty realistic." Finally I saw the other guitarist and drummer across the crowded bar, no raised stage. They covered "Moonage Daydream" and slayed it. I'm pretty sure they were all in their 20s and they were playing these songs nearly 30 years older than they were. Very appreciative crowd. My word, did it feel good to hear live music again. I needed that.
