... "Minty" :hmm

Does this word drive anyone else here nuts? It's like the one word, or term, that just makes me wanna smack somebody... and I'm pretty much a non-violent guy 99.99% of the time.
It might be because I always see it associated with guitars that are definitely not... minty. Ugh.

Also, there's... "double cream", yet another term that makes me cringe. Never heard anyone, back in the day, call them "double creams", ... always "double whites."

Ok, I feel better now :)

I'm with you, Roadrunner.

"Minty" is as overused by Reverb and Ebay sellers as is "cozy" by real estate salespeople. In both cases, you're bound for disappointment when you have a look.

When somebody's selling PAF's, I notice (if they aren't black bobbins) they almost always call them "double whites." From what I see, it's the aftermarket stuff that seems to get the double-cream descriptions. Whether this is because so many of them (until lately) tended to be various shades of beige, or they're worried about getting sued by Dimarzio (copyright holder for uncovered double whites), I don't know.

thing is I don't really like mint guitars that much...I would rather have a player grade guitar I can play without worry and one that feels and looks like it has a history.

I used to call them double creams. We're talking aboot Oreo's right? And minty is what I always say right after I fart. That or roses!

How about "plays slicker than goose chit!" or "the thing pays so smooth you'd swear it was coated in pork drippins'". But no! Next thing they'll be saying is "smoother than your chef's risotto." Pansies. Where's my lattè?

Being part-Irish, I can't help but like the word "minty," especially around this time of year.

Isn't that because DiMarzio owns the copyright on "Double White," or something along those lines?

"LIKE" ... It's like, the most annoying word, like ya know, this one time, like, my brother was talking about this word "like", like I didn't know, and like, all of a sudden, it's like, I didn't know what to like, it's like ya know? ... Anyone born after 1980 seems to have a VERY specific tendency toward this.

Brought it to my ex's attention (born 1980), back in the day, .. and, like .. uugh, you don't wanna know. :rolleyes

I don't like, nor, enjoy being violent, but I really wouldn't mind punching someone in the mouth everytime they said it.
