THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
Re: Thought on this "original owner" '68 LP w/ humbuckers that sold for $5,000?
Clearly not a 68. Big headstock.
I always thought the i dot went before the big headstock came in. My 69 has no dot and small headstock. Checking Moons site it seems around the same time. I don't think I've seen another big HS with a dot before.

Is it just me or does the dot on this one look more like an oval? haha
Regarding the dot and its relationship to the big headstock, I honestly can't remember at the moment. I'll try to remember to look through my notes later, crazy weekend, so disclaimer, I may forget to get back. hahah
