Tinnitus relief?

Hello all.

My tinnitus is spiking lately and I know there is no cure, yet there are audiologists who claim they can now reduce the noise.

Has anyone worked with or have an opinion about Treble Health? They have a very expensive program that looks good, yet they aren't shy about offering deals, if you buy now. So I wonder if they are truly patient oriented.

Has anyone worked with an audiologist and used the Lenire bi-nodal device?

Has anyone found relief through other means?

Thanks gents.

I don't have any experience, sorry. But I'm sure keeping my eyes out for these newer methods. Maybe in a few years there will be a sample size big enough to convince me.

No. I've visited 2 audiologists. I tried hearing aids a couple years ago that were supposed to help, but didn't do anything for the tinnitus. I figure at this point after 38 years of dealing with it, I'll just put up with it until I take my dirt nap.

I've also "accepted" that this is until I die. But I sure would like to be surprised :ROFLMAO:

There does seem to be more research in this field now than just a couple of years ago.

I have had Tinnitus for ten+ and recently went in for acupuncture. It provided some relief knocking it down 30-40%. But it was funny- be careful what you pray for. The frequency that remained were new and a bit vexing. I guess I was used to what had been going on for so long.
Unfortunately I take a med that causes some neuropathy and when I started a course it came back.
I find it gets worse if I don’t sleep well.

Sorry to hear about your tinnitus spiking, it can be hard to think about anything else when it does.

I completely gave up listening to ear buds or headphones of any kind, and when combined with always having ear plugs in my pocket for any surprise loud events (which happens A LOT in NYC) over time my tinnitus has gone from debilitating to almost completely forgotten. I highly recommend this route though I know its slow and may not be feasible for everyone.

My wife takes Lipo Flavonoid. It's over the counter. She reports some relief after taking it regularly.

I use this playlist sometimes. Some of them work better than other. Tinnitus White Noise. I find it aides in my ability to tune it out and its not as loud after listening. Another thing is I've given up at headphones pretty much completely and pretty much use earplugs at every concert except for maybe 1 song only if the volumes are reasonable.

Mine went way up, recently bought a 5 watt amp, playing normal and boom, noticed it a bed time. It’s a screamer now. Have had it for 30 or so years. Got it from resting right ear on the bout of a Martin MC-28. Just another cross to bear.

You use simply ear plugs?

Just the thought of using them terrifies me.
I read that Lions Mane mushroom supplements could help, something about nerve endings. You could hear results in about 3 months.
I always hope that it’s an ear infection causing the spike, I won’t get it checked out for fear that it’s not. Pretty nutty thinking.

You sound like me. I tell people... "the day I wake up... and the whistle is gone..... I'll KNOW that I have passed on!!!!"

Make a post about 'what string gauge?' or 'what color picks do you like?' and you'll get a giant thread.
Post about tinnitus and all you'll get is a ringing in your ears.
That's because, so far, there's nothing to be done about it.
If it's not due to hearing damage (which is unlikely on a guitar forum), sometimes increasing blood flow can help.
Gingko biloba...quit smoking.
As for damaged hearing...we're SOL.

The only thing that works for me is to not think about it. Listen to music or sounds at reasonable volumes to help disguise it.

Noise generators help too. Ya know like white noise, ocean sounds. Anything just above your noise floor.

A person I used to work with told me red wine helped his tinnitus. I never tried it because I do not like wine. You never know.

On another site someone’s touting Aquapeace. A whole bunch of people over there talking about it and are taking it.

Apparently it's clinically proven to "support healthy hearing."
That seems to be the only thing they claim.

If it worked, it would be on every news broadcast in the world
I’ve read sleeping with ear plugs works, too. I’ve slept with ear plugs only because having a Frat house for neighbors.

Most of the solutions I have seen that might work is using hearing aids or the like to help mask the noise are either noise canceling or learning to ignore your particular hiss
