Alright, somebody start a new post already...this one got boring! Maybe one with another silly personal preference question like how you're supposed to hold the pick or what kind of socks bring out the tone of a Les Paul the best. How about the correct vintage of wine to pour when you are preparing to think about which overpriced piece of wood you will blow more money than you have on?

I *LOVE* EdR's list.. Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi...

"No Les Paul for you!!!"

Me, I'm a guard man... ;)

The carved flame top is kinda nice, so I did take off the 'guard.

Then I put back on. Recently I took it off and put it back on.

Without it, they look too '70s Cocaine-head Rock Star LP-custom-ish, for my taste. But then I HAVE been sniffing the laquer...

There's no f**king around with EDR. He knows what he likes!! He has some opinions and no gray areas. I still don't get the ceiling fan deal though............:60burst

60burst...man, if you could see me right now...I'm sitting at work struggling to keep my eyes open. I'm bored out of my skull over here. The only caffeine in me went down the office urinal long ago. I got my eye on a nice cold Red Bull though!
I have no idea how to use those little smiley faces you guys use but if I did, my post would be littered with 'em to help show that I'm writing with nothing but a good vibe towards all of my LP forum brothers (and sisters)!

New topic coming through...see the sunburst pub.

60Burst, Ed is vertically augmented. The majority of human beings can peacefully coexist with ceiling fans, but Ed is not one of them.

I am not verticalluy augmented. I got this tall naturally!
It's the REST of the world that builds for pipsqueaks.
I like my headstocks to stay on the guitar, not decorating the blades of my ceiling fans.

Again !!!

To me fellas!!! It's all on the feel?, if you like to trash and make natural scuff marks where the so called p/g used to be? by all means remove it! But if it feels ackward or different and you cant afford to mess up your investment ( depending what model ) then have it on. Dont just go by the LOOKS,given some look great with and some look bad without..Remember the bottom line is? It's all in the FEEL guys and gals, It's all in the FEEL. Oooops! Gotta remove it , nope?? but it looks bad... Ooohhh that FEELS good??????...Just my sense o' Feel... :wail: on dudes & dudettes.

Hey Humbuck, I knew that. You should have similies come up on your left hand side when you hit your reply page? Click on the one you like. Do this : lolspin except no space between the : and the l and you should get a laughing face? Try it the whole forum will sit and wait until we see it ? Okay start now.......

Ed is only 6'4" right? I am 6'1" and I agree the world was meant for smaller people. The seat is all of the way back in the Cobra as it is in most cars and I could use more. Hey, aren't big people supposed to be kind and affable? Hmmm....... i guess there are exceptions....:lolspin :60burst

Duane Allman was a great guitar player, and his LP would look better with a pickguard, because they come(came) with one. Mag wheels on a new car vs stock wheels is the difference between pimps and normal. This is my veiw, which matters if you want to join my club, and if you don't want to , it will be better for both of us. What is your clubs veiw ?

My club is pro-choice on the pickguard thing. Just don't anyone go blowing up shops that remove 'em... :lolspin

I guess I am pro-choice on pickguards, too. I can see Ed isn't going to take his off........no chance of that. I just hope he doesn't put all of mine back on while he's here?????:lolspin :60burst

Duane's goldtop would look better with a pickguard???? That is blasphemy dear child. No go and listen to Live at the Fillmore for a few hours... know why your guitar doesn't sound the same??? yep, it's the pickguard............:lolspin :60burst

Snags, My, ain't you the politically correct one today!! Hee Hee.. :)spin

EdR.. Only 6'5"?? Sheesh, the way everybody put it here I thought you were like 8' 7"!! I'm only an inch shorter than ya!! Let's hear it for the vertically enhanced!! :) I'm probably a few inches bigger around than you tho!! I'm down to 240 now..

And I know about that ceiling fan thing.. First time I held my son up in the air in the family room, I nearly put him right into the ceiling fan, which at the time was on full speed. Thank God something stopped me from fully extending my arms.. Talk about a sick feeling afterwards.. :(

Oh yeah.. this is supposed to be a pickguard discussion.. I changed my mind, I'm agin 'em.

No wait I'm fer 'em..

No wait, agin 'em..

Ahh the hell with it.... :dude

I've got you beat, Dave- 249 as of this morning. But it's dropping rapidly. I'm down from about 290 in February and around 275-280 in March, at the time of the show.
