My toggle switch is making me crazy.

My toggle cut out, figured it must be a wire. So I pulled it to check - damn those wires are short.

Anyway, when the ground is connected, I have no sound. When the ground is pulled, it works, but I get a ground buzz if I touch the metal ring. I can live with it, but it's not right.

I also noticed that if I attach the jack lead to the center pole - that would normally be ground - I have sound (again, leaving the ground wire off). Maybe that's normal, I don't know.

Any ideas?

No, that's not normal. Sounds like a short between the frame and the output leaves. If you can't see anything, try taking it apart and cleaning it, then reassembling it.
