Hey all,

Im looking through beauty of the burst and it appears that the truss rod cover is right on top of the nut on some guitars including Pearly Gates, did it's location vary from guitar to guitar ?

Yes, apparently they were done by hand. Many of them are crooked, too- (bursts were not high end guitars on the assembly line). Many 60's are usually right against the nut, as the necks got slimmer, the truss rod was mounted shallower in the neck, so the covers had to be mounted low.

Thanks !!! I know that in the historic section of the forum this used to be an issue - in BOTB there are also 58's and 59's with the cover touching the nut. I didn't realize it had to do with the neck size/shape could effect the placement as well

I appreciate the help !!!
