• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I posted this in the "Front Desk" area, like I know I'm supposed to... but, I don't want to wait for a six months for someone to answer it.

How do I get my HTML code turned on. I wanted to embed a youtube vid in a message and with the code off, this is what I get:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/CoVeM4tUL3g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Over in the "Test Area" section, the code is turned on for me and the embed thing works:

A little help... please! Thanks!

Hey Texas... The only place it works (embedding a video) for me is over in the "Test Area", everywhere else... it doesn't work :(

Crap.

Maybe Lilly doesn't want it to eat up a bunch of bandwidth which only makes sense.

I don't think that's it. Take this thread for example, the original poster asks people to embed the youtube vid and shows us how to do it in his first post, and also at the end of page 7 in the thread.

In the little "Posting Rules" box, scroll down and look to the lower left in the reply window, is yours configured like mine? Here's what mine says:

Posting Rules

vB code is On
Smilies are On
code is On
HTML code is Off

I did just find out that when I start a thread, the HTML code is turned "on"... strange stuff!

What I did is grab the imbed code from youTube,
post the reply,
the imbed does not show there, but here's how to activate it,
save the post,
EDIT the post,
put the embed code there,
save the edit.
the embed shows up.

I don't know if that is a loop hole, but that works

I've seen it actually work on a couple of the other areas of the forum (besides "Test Area"), but never in the "Backstage" area, so it appears to be something that can be enabled per section. I wish it was universal across the forum.
