• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Upon flipping my new LP's selector to rhythm - the toggle hits the ring and within 10 seconds flips to the middle :-(

I'm guessing you've got a poker chip on there? I'll bet you an easy fix is to remove it. I had the exact same symptom once. Tried shaving down the poker chip a little bit but eventually just removed it.

Remove the toggle switch backplate.
Holding the guitar in the playing position, apply slight down-pressure on the toggle where the insulating pieces are, as if you are trying to move the toggle to the center of the route.
You just fixed it.

No need to shave anything!!!!!

just make sure that the toggle switch is centred in the hole. If it is not, it will hit the edge either on the top or bottom of the switch and cause it to spring to the middle position.
