• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Value of '68 GT?

I'm considering selling my old girl after all these years.......never gets played, just sits there in the case. Bought it in 1970. 530xxx serial number, so early series....

PUs have been replaced with humbuckers, headstock partial break expertly repaired by master luthier (You can't see it) excellent condition except for these 2 items. Truss rod cover was signed by Lester himself with a nail at a guitar demo after a few beers......

I have no idea what it is worth and there are very few comps on reverb or Ebay for this early model with the small headstock and on e piece neck and body.......

Any help appreciated.

I have a converted 1969 with a headstock issue as well- the market for these is up and about $7500-8500 it will sell, esp with the smaller headstock. Dreamers have these a $9-11k- month after month... Thinking mine could fetch $6500.
It's like the joke about the bear and the fisherman- they're really not trying to sell the guitar.

My 2020 VG Price Guide has that model listed at $14K to $18.3K, in original excellent condition of course.

for reference, I sold three 1968 Les Pauls with mods and repairs for 7k each and a trade for a stop tail converted 1964 ES335. That was in 2010

The fees on even reverb are killer- and there is sales tax too. List it here- it will sell quickly.
