• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Thank you Mike! I'm very happy to be a part of this community. I've benefited greatly from the knowledge shared and I hope that I can return at least a small part of the favor. Here's the neck pickup from a 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard

Welcome aboard! I'm curious: When does a guitar become "vintage?" Is it like antiques, that an item has to be at least 25 years old, or is there some other criteria?

Hello and thank you! In my opinion, vintage is in the eye of the beholder. I like to define the guitars I'm looking for as "vintage collectible". There are plenty of old guitars that I don't find interesting. The vintage collectible guitars that I'm looking for are usually made between the late 1920s and 1980.

A lot of creative people are here. I like to play guitar, but actually I am a designer. Is there a designer?

I'm glad to welcome everyone to this wonderful forum. I would be very interested in finding a cool vintage guitar with an exciting history. I prefer to play only handmade guitars. I am so obsessed with this that I even buy handmade accessories. A friend of mine recently showed me a site, ironageaccessories.com, that offers some cool guitar stuff, I'd like to buy something there. I think that soon I will need to buy a separate house for my guitars, lol. But I wouldn't turn down another vintage baby!
