• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What model is my LP custom?

A really beautiful Sunburst with some delicious color and figure . My Compliments ! Black top hats and not black speed barrel knobs , which is what I would have figured would be on there , but that's probably because It's a Custom Shop model ? or they were swapped out by the previous owner ?

Regular Custom. Short tenon, swiss cheese holes.
Custom Shop Non-Historic LP Custom - ebony board, weight relieved (swiss cheese) body, maple top, long neck tenon, CSXXXX serial number
Custom Shop Historic LP Custom - ebony board, non-weight relieved body, mahogany top, long neck tenon, historically correct style serial number .. eg. 1 7XXX

It is Non-Historic Custom Shop LP cUSTOM Plaintop in Heritage Cherry Sunburst. You have a COA that the Custom Shop stopped in using '07/'08, so production was some time before then. It should be ebony board. They usually have ebony speed knobs.

Long tenon on regular Customs is a more recent thing, maybe 2017/newer, and I believe they are also solid now. This one is much older given that COA. I had a 2007 and it had a short tenon.

Your historic serial number is also incorrect as none start with 1.

the serial number was simply an example of how the sequence would be. I'm aware that the reissue year would be the first digit...
Yes , a long tenon is more recent and the bodies are still weight relieved.
