Hello

I have a 1980 Les Paul Standard with a plain maple top. What size neck do I have? a 50's, 60's or something other? It feels a little fatter than my Fender necks but still very comfortable to play.
Just curious. I re-fretted this guitar 2 years a go and it plays like a dream. I know the neck is made out of 3 piece maple. Weighs 10 lbs, 2 oz.

Typically pretty slim in that era. I also had a 1980 Standard with a very slim neck profile. I'm sure they vary though.

At that point the necks weren't classified as "50s," "60s" or whatever. They were their own thing.
IIRC from playing a lot, they were often pretty thin, closer to the 60s than the 50s, but usually even thinner.
If you like it, that's the most important part.
I have a 1980 SG that is hard to classify also. Thinner than my 2002 Standard 50s, but thicker than the 60s versions I;ve played.
