• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What would we call this color burst?

I know folks have come up with all sorts of fancy names for burst colors, this one was sold to me as a bourbon burst, just wondering what others have to say on the subject? I realize names are subjective and arbitrary.

That's something from the Ice Tea family for sure. The Bourbon Bursts are much darker around the edges and there's usually some "orange-ish" hues in there. But, it's a nice looking guitar so enjoy!

Faded Southern Iced Washed Cherry Teaburst..., with a Lemon Twist lol
All joking aside, Gibson has 350 names for 4 or 5 colors....and after a while 99% of them look the same to me.
Other than Dirty Green Lemon or Green Onions or whatever its called, I cant tell the difference.
With the purpose being to have a Cherry SB having gone through various stages of aging and fading, one man's Iced Tea is another man's faded washed cherry...etc
for example...my '20 60th Anniv R0. This is a one off color.....trans amber center, with more of a brownish-red rim, with a brown back/sides/neck stain, instead of red stain/dye.
People have said..."I love your Iced Teaburst" or "Is that Washed Cherry".. Ive been in shops where two brand new Historics are next to each other, colors looking identical, but listed with different colors
I have to give it to the guys in marketing...they've done their job
