What Year did the COA's start?

Hi! Trying to find the COA for my 2007 R-4..But I was wondering what year they started with those as my 2002 R-0 didn't come with one. Can someone give me a clue.. Thanks!

Hi Don. 2007 definitely had them. My 2007 R8 has one.
I think my 2005 R8 had one too, but I'm not 100% sure on that...

Thanks!! I'm selling my 2007 R-4 (Historic Makeovers) and I can't find my COA... I bought it new from Dave's in La Crosse..

Somewhere around early '03 the orange COA's first appeared.

Oh yeah, right. The colour and style changed over the years too.
2007 still had the original orange type. At least mine does.

Yes, some customers called Gibson in 2000 and requested certificates. And Gibson did a few randomly. My post was referring to certificates coming stock with all guitars without a special request.
