Where Can I Get Thumbwheels?

I've seen several threads regarding using double thumbwheels to help correct forward leaning bridge posts and I'd like to give it a try. However I haven't been able to find any for sale at my usual online spots. Anybody know where I can find "Historic Spec" thumbwheels for sale?

Thanks!

Every once and a while you can catch a set on eBay, or you can probably go into any Guitar Center and order a set. Obtaining an additional set of Historic thumbwheels should not be difficult.

But what it comes down to, is if you want all 4 thumbwheels to "match". No kidding!! When I decided to use another set, after purchasing two separate sets, I found that even Historic thumbwheels can differ in thickness, AND the grain (for lack of a better word) on the outside surface can be totally different wheel-to-wheel. So I ended up putting each matching set on the same bridge post. Being as anal as I am, it just didn't sit well with me - to me it looked ... unmatched.

So what I finally ended up doing was buying 2 full Historic "bridge packages" (see below) with matching thumbwheels, then I sold off the ABR1's and the posts on eBay.

If you can't find the Historic ones I would recommend Pigtail
Steve Rowen makes exact 50's replicas.
www.pigtailmusic.com
They are just a bit thinner than the Historic ones.
I have them and they are like all his other hardware, the best.

Send me an email. I have an extra historic set and several stewMac sets. The stewmac ones are thinner and look better, but they fit looser on the posts. Give and take.

Thanks Guys!

Sean, I looked at the Pigtail site but didn't see any thumbwheels . . . am I blind or should I just send an email to Steve regarding them?

Ashbass, email sent . . . thanks!

Fretwire, will those fit a Historic? I thought I read somewhere (maybe incorrectly) that the Historic studs used a different thread than other Gibson ABR's.

Thanks everyone.

He mentions them in the ABR description but does not show them.
Don't know why.
Send him an email or call.

All Gibson's ABR-1 bridge studs are 6-32" threads. Those in the link will work.

I just got two sets of those, they will NOT work, they are metric M 4 not 6/32" as Gibson abr-1 posts are, they would not compensate for my shipping costs to and from either when all I asked for is free shipping on the next order. Don't know who the jackass is working there but ignored my shipping cost complaint and told me I should know they are not real Giboson parts. I said the ad says "for Gibson abr-1 bridges".
