• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Which Customs have the long tenon?

I was thinking of getting ahold of a new CherryBurst Custom, but wasn't sure if it had the long neck tenon or not. I know the historics do, but what about the others?

The '68 "reissues" have a long neck tenon.
As do the 54 (P90) and 57 (2 or 3 Burstbuckers) reissues. Both have a Mahogany top, the 68 has a maple top.
I had a 68CA, awesome guitar, great neck and frets. Heavy as hell.

Shame of it is none of those come in Cherry Sunburst. I was looking to kinda give the Ace treatment.

You'll have to go used for a Custom 68 in Cherryburst, like this one on gbase:

'57 Customs also come in a Faded Cherry color. I've seen a few.

tonebender,
I do believe the 68 reissue custom does have the long tenon no matter if its black, white, natural or sunburst. I know that unless Gibson has stopped doing this all Les Paul Customs are currently built in the Custom shop reguardless if they are a specific reissue or USA model Custom. The White Customs are being built in another plant maybe Memphis last I heard.
