• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just this week installed a Klein Firebird pickup into my 63 Firebird I reissue. I’ve had this guitar for several years using the stock ceramic so I was very familiar using it this way. For me, the change is dramatic. I’ve discovered years ago low output pickups are the most pleasing to my ears. Very happy that I made the change.

Did you get this pickup recently from Klein Pickups, or is it a pickup you had for a while or got it from another source? I ask this because I've tried to get in touch with Klein Pickups recently to no avail and I am curious to know if he is still in business.

I bought the pickup a while back. Maybe 5-6 years? Just got around to installing it this week as now I live close to my brother and trust his soldering skills more than mine. It would be a shame if Klein went out of business. As an alternative I'd look into a Lollar. Good luck.

Just looked. Klein's website is still up. You might try emailing them or getting hold of one of their dealers.

Thanks for your answer. I've also noticed that the site is still up. That doesn't mean necesserly that the business is still going on. As of now, I don't need anything from Klein Pickups, but I will for sure send an Email if I need to get in touch with them (or him). I was just curious if somenone had recent news.

I am very happy with the ceramics in mine. I have them lowered too.

Im jonesin' to replace them with mojotones, but the guitar sounds so good as is. My friends prefer it over my really nice Les Paul and 335. I hate to say i do too. I'd still like to try the mojo tones to see if i can improve it, but it's a hassel.
