• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

would I be insane to try and sell a 57 BLACK BEAUTY custom historic with the Covid ?

I sold an R8 and a Junior just last week and had no problem. Both were priced to sell, but not below market value.

Knowing the mentality of guitar players I've known over the years, they'd be more likely to buy a guitar they want, than pay their rent, or even buy food... :peace2 :peace2 :peace2

Si senor.

I've done that.

One time back in the day.

I bailed on a hot date that was guaranteed to end in dirty talking animal style sex.

Just to go check out a guitar a friend was selling.

I bought the guitar.

True story.

one last thing - I heard that shipping things right now is a frickin nightmare because of Covid delays and some buyers get really pissed and want money back

you get screwed because you are out money and your axe is floating out there in limbo

true or falsehood ???

Not true at all... Quite the opposite in fact. Companies like FedEx and UPS are experiencing huge drops in volume, yet they are both considered "Essential" and are operating at full staff.

I have seen several instances where shipping takes longer than expected.
As long as you have given the buyer correct expectations, are completely upfront and give them the tracking number,
it's not on you - you fulfilled your part where you ship it out in a timely manner, it's on UPS or Fedex (collectively known as FedUp)
to deliver it as expected. That said, paying a big more for next day air might not be a bad deal - but again, give the buyer the tracking number to lety them follow along.
