• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hey Brian I ws looking at an old post you made on your junior I recently got one used and it has Grover locking tuners on it. I want to get them off asap. I was wondering what yo used, as you mentioned you upgraded with conversion bushings . Also did you get a Mojoaxe wrap tail piece? how did that work out ?

thanks and best

As for tuners I used 3x3 Kluson. Not totally vintage correct but they look much better than the stock or grovers I think.

Sure, hit me up. Hard to write much here as they limit how long a response can be.
Hey Mat!

Greetings!

I have a very simple question: Does Epiphone have an ACTUAL, PHYSICAL, Custom Shop in Nashville or Overseas?

I am under the impression that they DO NOT have a physical location and that the Epiphone Guitars labeled 'Custom " are made in China with different finishes, pickups, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Bob! I'm not sure what Epiphone you are referring to...we do have some Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop" models made overseas that were designed and spec'd in collaboration with the Custom Shop team (and myself). But our Epiphone factory in China operates very similarly to what we are doing stateside and we are looking to grow our abilities with highly ornate guitars and even aging.
Hey CC,

Is that YOUR band...? Nice feeling and groove...!

That WAS my band. Covid and having to move 300 miles away put and end to it.
Thanks, though...
It was a good run.

Hey Amigo,

I saw your name the other day and sent you a 'like', and you sent me one as well. Thanks for that. Nice to see that after all these years you are still 'stirring up shite' on the old LPF. I hope life has been treating you well.

Best,

Thanks for reaching across the years and sending up a signal. Good to see you here. After a few bumps and hollows, my life seems to be well. Here's hoping yours is, too.

I have a Gibson Les Paul "Jeff Beck" R4 without the mounting ring cutout for easier string changes... any idea where I can get one?

Hi TedB,
Saw your thread while looking for info on MapleFlame.... I've been looking for a source of nickel plated 6/32 threaded rod but all sources seem to have dried up, the only thing I've been able to find are lengths of 1.625" sold in lots of 1000- I'm afraid to ask what the price is.... wonder if you have any ideas about where I could buy lengths of plated threaded rod?

Thanks,
Jim

I was actually watching that guitar on Reverb, I thought it had sold? Edit, oh, I see your message was from last week. I didn't get a notification, hope it went to a good home!
Hi Danelectro,
my name is Jan Zander. I was sold a fake 57 GT in 2016- Here are the X- rays. Now the seller writes to the court, this might be the only original 1957 Gibson chambered, and I am in possession of a possible very valuable unique collector piece. Thats just cynic.. Would you have 50s x-rays or anything else to support my claim? I will not use your name. All the best Jan

There is a rumor that Mary Ford had a weight relieved Les Paul, but that may just be a rumor. Otherwise I have never heard of any chambered 1950's Les Pauls. Can you send a few photos of the guitar and the control cavity? I'll look for anything else that might be an indicator that guitar is not from the 1950s. It would be easier to send them via email: dynasonic@msn.com
"Gonna order the wizz set and see what happens"

Hey, was searching out any postings on this set, just seeing if you ended up getting these installed and what your impressions are on them?! and which magnets/options did you go with?
I have the Throbak PG's and used to have Wizz Premium's (standard set) but was interested in going back to Wizz for the PG's.

Thanks
Ryan
Can you send me a copy or send me to a link for the 68 ledger page? I have a custom with a 89961X serial number. Thanks
Tyler man, it’s Alex that is deployed. I’m coming home next week and want to give you a chance on shipping my order. Come on man. You had a good reputation and hope you make good on this

Tyler I have tried making contact with and am offering you a chance at making this right. If you want to send the harness and keep the cash I am fine with that. I understand we all go through tough times more than most people. If you just want to issue a refund then just give me the the refund. The choice is yours. Good luck man and I hope you make it through whatever you are going through. Be safe man

Hello Charlie, Thanks for your response. I want to install locking tuners because by the end of the first set, my Les Paul is out of tune. I have to re-tune it at the end of every set when I play out. I've lubricated all contact points, stretched strings, and even tried the String Butler but nothing keeps the guitar in tune. Yours, Steve
