• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

My Les Paul Standard quilt top from 2011 has these gold or shiny like speckles on the headstock veneer. Wasn’t there until last year. Maybe I used some bad cleaner or something I can’t remember, but I’ve never seen it on any other Les Paul headstock before. What do you guys think?

I dunno about the finish on your headstock, but your handle tells me I need to revisit the Fatal Attraction album since it's been about 30 years since the last time. :coffee:

I think I know what it is. The specs and flakes are gold colored. The Gibson logo has a couple little cracks by the clear coat of the inlay. I think it’s the logo. Is this possible or has it happened to other LP’s you know of?
