• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Request to LPF Members with experience in hosting and managing websites - need your help with an important LPF matter!

Hello LPFers. The hosting service that we have used since the inception of the LPF has decided to discontinue hosting services for small entities like the LPF. We have been with them for 25 years. While I know just enough to be dangerous with IT, finding a new, reliable and cost-effective hosting service with engineering support, and having someone who can port the LPF over to their site is beyond my pay grade. I'm looking for any suggestions that members with experience in this work may have. Many thanks, Mike Slubowski

I used Go-Daddy for years.

I was happy with them.
Second vote for GoDaddy as well, as they've always been pretty easy to work with. I assume they can work with a message board-oriented site, though obviously, it would be best to inquire about that first.

@MikeSlub -- Best to look for specialized support for the existing platform XenForo to ease transition and contain costs. Here's a start --

I heard positive recommendations for KnownHost as specialists in XenForo hosting:
...with TMD coming in second.

A small UK-based site admin who specializes in XenForo; he's not a large-scale hosting company but may allow for better high-touch service:
He's accessible via the XenForo community forum itself:

Other "best of" lists that tout support for XenForo; among those listed, A2 had some positive recommendations, then BlueHost and Hostinger:

Consider consulting your peers.

TGP, TDPRI and MLP (which are all apparently owned by the same company, Enthused Digital Music Network) use XenForo.
Perhaps the people behind Enthused could offer some meaningful perspective.

For what it's worth, TalkBass is owned by Talk Music Group and does not apparently use XenForo.
Paul Determan always struck me as a decent guy, and I have tremendous respect for the TB Double Bass board as an intentionally high-content, low-drama online environment.

With a few hiccups along the way, I've been using iPower for my website for 17 years. You might give them a try. Ipower.com
