9s or 10s on your Les Paul?

10s for me. Though I've been using 9s on my 25½" scale-length guitars lately.

I use Ernie Ball RocknRoll 9's on all my electric guitars. I have been using that same gauge for years.

I had 9s loved it buy maybe a bit too loose, so put 10s on. 10s feel more right, for double stops, chords, and ok with most bends, but I do miss bending beyond one whole stop. What rest think of this? Thanks.

I played 10a forever. Saw the Rhett Shull video about string gauges and decided to give 9s a go. Loved the response with palm muting and never went back.

Ernie Ball 11-48 Power Slinkys.

I used to use 11-54 Beefy Slinkys when I was younger and gigged more, but nowadays the plain 22 messes with my fingertips so I’m back down to Power Slinkys.

10s. I’d like to try a 13 on the bottom. But what’s the point? I don’t the how guitarists did it back in the day? It’s not like their low E was 54+. But using heavier gauge on l lighter strings I could probably handle. But they don’t make them so Erney ball slinky 10s green pack

Gotta be enough mass to vibrte the wood. Nothing lighter than .01" for me.

Been using 10's for around 30 years. I dabbled with heavier gauge strings 20 years ago, but they gave me tendonitis and I had to stop playing for a month. So I won't be doing that again. I've dabbled with lighter strings of late, but they seem floppy for me. I do have a Tele strung up with 9-46, so I can do those pedal steel bends easier. If my hand arthritis continues to get worse, I will drop down the gauges accordingly to keep playing, but for now I can still play 10's.

Used to use 10's.. Moved to 8's after Hand nerve damage.. Never looked back. Tighter less woofy bass.More clarity.
Jimmy Page used 8s . Enjoyed his live tone.

I played 11s forever. Just switched to 10s. Wish I'd done it years ago.

I was up to 11s.
But on some guitars I found them thunky and used 10s.
Now I've had FIVE hand surgeries and have 9s on everything; including jazz boxes.
I'm used to them and like the snap.
