• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Blues mythology has always been about mojo, voodoo curses & black magic. This guitar has all that in spades. If I were a blues player and had the coin, I'd be all over it regardless of the potential lawsuits, missing parts etc...

If the devil played blues, he'd play it on Greeny...

Well if Robert Johnson sold his soul to the Devil then maybe the Devil went out and purchased this Les Paul with the proceeds!

It certainly has plenty of black magic associated with it. :wow

of course you don't

"it is featured on some milestone rock recordings. Electric Ladyland, Hey Joe & Foxy Lady, all of this info is fully documented & is irrefutable."

of course it is.

what are you saying? you think the guitar isn't right?, Franks sold that guitar to Al Parish, Al never received it because it was in my safe, I sold it pre-auction for the benefit of the creditors, the guitar has never been rejected on a question of legitimacy & it had been inspected by individuals who knew what they were doing

That's curious, this was your previous on the subject.

And this?

If you mean my calling a shop to ask whether an amp could be viewed, given the person who posted the amp (Richard Henry) had declared that he was "out", then yes, guilty as charged. You can also call the shop to verify that I specifically told the owner that I was only interested if Richard was out. I suspect Richard will verify that too. You'll also note that throughout the thread you've so poorly researched, I maintained that Richard's view on authenticity may well be correct, but that without viewing it was impossible to tell.

We can return to that if you wish, but a $45k double scorpion rings a bell.

You have to be the unluckiest guy alive. I'd hate to be your insurance underwriter.….:hmm

How about this bad boy? Was this guitar also part of the batch of fakes?

nothing to do with Richard Henry or any amplifier

there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Scorpion Z, you can return to it if you wish, I would like to know more,

cast aspersions all you wish, was I on top of the web, no, I was busy, was I taken advantage of, yes, were those guitars sold as real bursts, no,

so no credit in preventing the guitars getting to the market place then?
thought so

I think the guitar should be given to Gary's family in the UK. They should be the custodians. Gary didn't want to sell it but had to for financial reasons.

Damn shame. This whole thing. Greenie was once among the most revered bursts on the planet, one of the most oft mentioned. Now it's in the middle of the biggest headf*** I've ever seen in regards to a vintage guitar. Personally I'd have no problem buying this guitar if I had the cash for it. I'd leave it home and plug it in every night, let it rip in the wee hours and maybe even loan it out occasionally. It's still the first burst many of us remember hearing. The one that first gave us that chill and made the hair on our arms stand up.
It's been a shameful display of greed at its worst.

I am very sorry that you're ill, I hope you're soon better

you don't have to believe anything, i'm cool with that, try not to be blinkered though, everything I have said is true & is documented

be well

I will never be well I'm afraid I'm terminal. But I thank you for the cheer.

Maybe it's a British thing, it sure ain't no New York thing. How can you say you speak the truth when you dance around and spin better than any politician and never answer anything but give vague mysterious, innuendo laden cryptic Ian Flemming worthy fiction. Really the smell of fish and smoke in my eyes from your posts has me reeling!!!

Nefarious dealings with a secret Burst Cartel, phoney front men, divorce and skullduggery, lost fortunes and forgeries, hungry hit men who provide last meals or at least really want lunch first, vindictive minions and powerful forces assembled against you, a rep for dishonesty, greed induced licensing deals with a major US manufacture in what may have been fraud, dining reviews, U.S. Govermental harassment by Custom agent lackies, parts stripping for the good of us all, phoney Burst advertised as real and for sale with a call number but no not really, heroric action and unsung, unknown deeds of valour done for the good of us all, if only we knew, indignate declarations of innocence while throwing out more baseless accusations against someone who is a straight shooter and can answer a simple flippin question, insulting a very well respected forum bro and professional who again can answer a question and unlike you knows what he is talking about, and then slamming our government and his profession!!!!!

WTF!:bigal WTF!!! Sorry too much bullshit and sidestepping. I can't be bothered with this. Why come here if you won't answer simple questions? Why the mind games?

This thread shows why I respect people like Tom, as well as Gil and George and Buck and Vic and established US vintage brokers. Trust is earned in this world. So is contempt, well you have earned mine. I'd never buy anything from the UK. Certainly nothing associated with Music Ground or Maverick Music

I would never contribute monies or want anything to do with enriching any of these pirates. I certainly wouldn't want to pass on such baggage and bad karma to a cat like Joe. WTF are you guys thinking? That guitar most likely has been parted out at mucho profit and forged parts installed. At the very least it has been soul stripped and lost it's mojo.

Phil, not a forum pile on as much as another forum pile up. Like I said maybe it is a culture thing. I know I've been misunderstood at times, but brother if you came here to clear up and clarify this sad state of affairs, I gotta tell ya, you failed. Better to have remained silent, you took your shot and hit your foot. Over and over and over..... it kinda reminds me of something...
<BANG>
OUCH!!!
:nelson :##
I'm outta this thread.

Not to mention Black Magic Woman...

Seriously though, is there a more badass guitar on the planet :hmm

This guitar has the most evil blues mojo of any guitar I can think of. The first iconic owner goes insane, the second dies shorty after selling it into the vintage guitar underworld... Zoso or Keef should buy it and play it in Aleister Crowley's old Boleskine House. Maybe get 'devilishly' inspired to write some good music again for a change.

Personally, I'd love to own Greeny.

If this thread doesn't scare you into hiring an expert when you buy a vintage guitar, I don't know what will.

Back in 80's...when the seeds were planted for me to pursue vintage guitars as my profession, I never dreamed it would become what it has.

The concept of "guitars as investments' has probably been the one single factor that has screwed things up the most.

That is what attracted the sharks.

Almost every facet of my job, finding cool gear, visiting awe inspiring shops like Southworth's, meeting other folks that LOVE guitars, has been replaced with other unfulfilling, unwanted, time wasting crap....like sitting at the computer looking or reading about guitars.

Maybe I just need to go plug in.

I personally couldn't care less about this or any vintage guitar. Peter Green and Gary Moore are/were real people with talent, this "thing" is just wood, glue, plastic, and some metal. What this thread really illustrates is how morally bankrupt and corrupt people in this world are. Quite sad really.

Lets face it guy's, at the end of the day it's only a tool that was used in a piece of history... the real magic came from Peter Green regardless of what guitar he played and any mojo that might have seeped into this burst is long gone. The guitar belongs in a museum (in England).
