THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
EL GRINGO.....so knowing you are a big fan of throwback...how do u evaluate the instrument/custombuckers greg is playing...both pickups are 7.1..how would Throwbacks differ ?
QUITE RIGHT...IT WAS THE TIM/RHETT VIDEO THAT GOT ME THINKING.....TRYING TO QUANTIFY....I HAVE FOUND NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT...SO FAR....I WONDER HOW THE VARIOUS
PICKUPS..WOULD COMPARE WITH WHAT IS BEING DEMOED....
I have seen, read, and listened to all manner of compare/contrast LES PAUL /pickup/wiring/amp demos. These may be stand alone demonstrations or more frequently a search for HOLY GRAIL PAF reproductions. Essentially
who makes PAF clones that sound great in certain LES PAUL...
i just happen to have found it again and plugged it into another discussion.. TIM PIERCE AND RHETT guitar shopping ...SORT OF CONJURES UP...BATMAN AND ROBIN....what is your take.
Here is an R8, GREG KOCH DEMO....for WILDWOOD.....Since this is the SUBJECT under discussion. What do you all think...
OPINIONS VARY. EXCEPT FOR ........"THE GIRL WITH THE FARAWAY EYES"....I WAS NEVER INTRIGUED BY THE STONES DURING THE RON WOOD YEARS...WITH TAYLOR, THE BAND TOOK NO PRISONERS....AND RIGHTFULLY SO, IN THE STUDIO AND OF COURSE IN CONCERT, LIVE, WHERE A MUSICIAN OF MT's TECHNIQUE AND ABILITY ARE...
SOME JAZZ HARMONY LAID DOWN.....MT TAKES FULL ADVANTAGE...SHADES OF ROBIN FORD.....GREAT TECHNIQUE AND TONE....NOW THAT NEEDS TO BE CHARTED OUT...EXCELLENT.
There was a LITTLE WALTER amp promo/advertising..some years ago..maybe 10.....in which Vince Gill was playing a Little Walter amp. I think there was reference to pedal steel as well......The LITTLE WALTER amp's claim to fame, at that time as I recall was about octal tubes....I play a Clark...
I met a guy through a former bandmate in 7 Lakes, NC...JAMMED AT HIS HOUSE....He designed and built....Little Walter amps. Very nice guy.
He used octal tubes in his circuit design...
