THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
Looks amazing! I’ve owned a Castledine and a Pigdog Supa Fuzz MKI. Currently own a Circle Electric in the Olivetti enclosure. The Circle is one of the best sounding fuzzes in my collection, but I would love a Beanies replica. Simone does amazing, amazing work!
Looks amazing!
I recently received my MKI Goldie from Simone. He does beautiful work!
I own a Pigdog shortboard. It’s my second shortboard from Steve. I regrettably sold the first one long ago, but I do own a long board MKII and a MKI from Steve as well. The MKIIs are in 90s Sola Sound MKII...
Sounds like you wired the pickups out of phase. The hot and ground (live and earth) wires need to be reversed.
I don’t know the Gibson color schemes, so can’t help there.
I’ve had pickups that were allegedly wound in reverse, Bare Knuckle and Shed. I’ve also flipped a ton of magnets and currently own Throbak PG-102s. I’ve never noticed any differences in how the controls respond or how the out of phase tones sound.

Clamp the cover to the pickup to prevent gaps between the cover and the pickup. This is important to prevent microphonics. Most hardware stores sell small enough plastic clamps to clamp down the cover. Apply...
I’ve had a variety of A4, A2 and A5 sets with a flipped magnet. Not sure I heard more quack with one set or another. I think the actual guitars they were in had more of an affect.
I thought about the DT-102 set for an SG. Ultimately, decided to go with my original plan of installing a set of ESG-102Bs. Found a never installed set for a price I couldn’t pass up.
I own the PG-102, Koss-301 and ER Customs. Love them all. Only set of Throbaks I wasn’t a big fan of was the...
I have a set of PU-2 pickups in a ‘81 Greco SG. Decent sounding, but not as dynamic as my Throbaks or other high end makers like Wizz, OX4, etc…they don’t clean up as nicely with the volume pot.
