Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
At a local GC I found a neat LP Classic. I think it might be a GOTW series but I don't know. It's a satin finish tobacco sunburst with open coil '57 Classics. It's drool-worthy for sure!
They have it tagged at $1800 or so if I remember right.
Any ideas?
Got a guy who might want to sell his Spirit. It's a sweet looking guitar in tobacco sunburst with creme body binding, two humbuckers (which might be Shaw's from what little I've read so far). He says it's in good shape, a few nicks and scratches on the back. Sounds to me like it might be about...
An online buddy offered to sell me his Lucille for $1325 w/case.
It's an early '90s that he described as 8.5/10 condition, just a few scratches on the back, nothing major.
I don't have a feel for the Lucille market, or the guitars for that matter. I'm jonsing bad for a good semi-hollow. What...
Does the Faber regular wrap bridge, not the compensated styles, have a good ridge across the top for the strings to break over? I know the Pigtail one does, and just learned the Tonepros one does, but haven't seen a good pic of the Tonepros.
Faber beats both handily on price. If they have a...
What if you made a small access hole into the chamber and shot it full of that foam insulation stuff? What would that do to the sound or resonance or whatever?
Start theories here :applaude
As part of the mod project I did on my VM Studio (thread in the Sunburst Pub :spabout ), I put new pickups in the guitar.
I never bonded with the stock Burstbucker Pros. Played with them all kinds of ways; high, low, slanted, pole pieces adjusted many ways. Just couldn't get the sound I was...
It started out as a simple experiment in working with Tru-Oil, but when I got it all apart I saw my chance to make a mod that I've wanted to do ever since I foolishly sold a Historic R4 Oxblood LP. Here it is in all its glory, my Po'mans Oxblood :2cool
I stuffed it with DiMarzio pickups, Air...
Might be old news to some, but this is the first I've seen of these. They look like some very cool Studios :2cool

I posted this in the Tech forum, but thought this might be a better place.
I attempted to polish out the finish on my VM Studio. I used a small hand buffer and some 3M buffing compound and then Finesse-IT II. Now, I have white residue embedded in the pores of the wood. I want to clean it all...
I attempted to polish out the finish on my VM Studio. I used a small hand buffer and some 3M buffing compound and then Finesse-IT II. Now, I have white residue embedded in the pores of the wood. I want to clean it all off in order to try a clear finish instead. Got any good suggestions?

Flat :rofl
Bottomed, that is. They're nice rings, no mistake, and I'll definitely use them. But they are flat bottomed so they won't be going on my Les Paul like I had planned.
That is all. :ganz
What's the story on the DiMarzio pickup rings at RS Guitarworks? Are they tall rings like Historics? I was just fixing to place an order for some Jensen caps and saw these on sale.
I have a set of BB Pros that I'd like to try uncovered in a project. The only experience I have taking off a cover was on an Epiphone pickup. There was a ton of wax underneath, it literally looked like a block of wax after I got the cover off. I killed the pickup trying to scrape the wax off...
I've got a Telegib partscaster I threw together using spare parts from my bins. It has a mahogany Tele body, maple Strat neck w/rosewood board, two humbuckers and a wrap bridge. For pickups I ended up with a Washburn 621/623 humbucker set from a HB-32 I modded.
The Washburn pickups sound pretty...
