THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!

Very cool, and lightweight, with one of the best necks the Custom Shop's ever done. Here's the first "Nicky" reissue to hit Carter Vintage in Nashville. This guitar has tone for days, it might even sound better than the real Nicky (hi Charlie:salude). Beautiful Eastern Maple top as well...
Arrived the other day. I went thru the amp and tuned it a bit, didn't need much. Fired it up yesterday afternoon and man, this is a good one. Clean too!

... "Minty" :hmm
Does this word drive anyone else here nuts? It's like the one word, or term, that just makes me wanna smack somebody... and I'm pretty much a non-violent guy 99.99% of the time.
It might be because I always see it associated with guitars that are definitely not... minty...
I was over at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville yesterday and I check out a few new Les Pauls, man... I'm impressed!
I played an R9, an R8 and a Waddy Wachtel model with a monkey bar on it. All three had the nicest necks, on reissues, I can ever remember playing. For me, the initial...
I found this orphan in a closet the other day. These are basically the "holy grail" of G12M's, the 55hz bass speakers. This one's from 1968.
Date code: "JA"... October of 1968.
Speaker cone code: 29 102 014
Model: 1511
No issues, sounds insanely great... HUGE tone out of this speaker...
I took these out of a Traynor cab I bought about 30 years ago. I actually found 3 of these cabs that a music store was closing out and bought them all.
This set of speakers were used for a couple of recording projects over the years, in a 4x12 cab, with a JTM 45 or a 50 watt plexi, they...
Surprised this hasn't been posted already...

Insanely great sounding guitar with a neck, well... may be the most perfect Gibson neck I've ever felt? That's the only...
I was cruising thru some of Carter Vintage Guitars vids, with the idea of eventually going over there, with a recorder, to get some reverb impulse responses together (for mixing), as it's an incredible sounding room.
Long story short I found this vid of Jd with a killer sounding Greg Martin...
Yup, right here...

Did a little tune up and re-bias on the Purple People Eater recently, pairs up nicely with this badass guitar. One of the best bursts I've ever heard.
I don't work for Carter Vintage, I don't own this Tele. Just wanted to get that out of they way.
Killer sounding Tele and Jd's doing it justice:

I've always called a good Les Paul a "Tele on steriods" and it's interesting to think how many "Les...
