Did a Killer Trade for this PRS Goldtop !!!

I found this PRS listed on my local FBMP for sale. I REALLY wanted this guitar, but I wasn’t about to pay his asking price. I contacted him to see if he would be interested in any trades. He mentioned some amp and asked what guitars I’d be willing to trade. I mentioned a few and he was ver...

    Pawnshop Steal - ‘15 Martin Centennial DC - 28E

Last week I did my usual pawnshop rounds around the area stores. I ran into this beauty for a CRAZY low price. I never pay asking price, so I asked what discount for the guitar if I paid cash today. Even with the already low price, they still knocked off another $200. SOLD!!!! I’d been...

Original ES 330 always Out of Phase?

I have an original ‘63 330 w/ original Bigsby, and I’m pretty sure it’s out of phase. It’s been a case queen for many years and never gets played, so it doesn’t really matter to me.

ES 330 not so long ago

I picked up my all original’63 Cherry 330 w/Bigsby at a pawnshop a few years ago for $2400 out the door. I still have it, but it’s a case queen. It has some of the hottest P-90’s I’ve ever encountered in a guitar. It’s almost impossible to get a good clean tone out of the guitar. I’m kinda...

1960 Classic - Years of Manufacture

I joined the Classic family early '20 when the pandemic hit. My local guitar tech/friend's business was virtually shut down and his wife was laid off from her job. He needed to sell some gear he wasn't using, and asked me if I'd be willing to buy some of it. He said he never really played...

    Where are they now...

Thanks Strings. The nut was changed out in the early 90's. The original nut was very low in several slots, so I HAD to change it out. It's an optical illusion Strings,as the guitar does have nibs. I guess when I really look at the fretboard on this guitar, I guess It kinda looks like the...

Questions about Vintage Gibson Humbucker pickups

It's one of the early' '89 Korean Samick factory Epiphone Sheraton II guitars. The '86-'95 are the one's that are built better and command more money on the use market. They had the neck binding, the 5 piece neck, long tenon, and 5 ply laminated top.

Vintage Norlin Score - '77 Gibson Walnut RD Custom!!

This guitar is 44 yrs. old and was made the year I graduated high school. It sure looks like it's been a case queen for almost all of it's 44 yrs. it's been around. The nasty Moog circuitry even still operates properly. Haven't had a chance to really play it,but will do so once it's been...

Questions about Vintage Gibson Humbucker pickups

The mystery is solved, and while they weren't 60's or 70's T-Tops in my wishful thinking I hoped they'd be, they're still really good late 80's Seymour Duncan Jazz(neck) and JB (bridge). Now that I've had a chance to play with the guitar for a while, I'm grateful the the pickups were upgraded...

    Where are they now...

For years I've wanted to know exactly the origin of my '80 Gibson LP Standard. I ran into Jimmy Wallace at a Vintage Guitar show in Austin Texas in '05 and I had my guitar with me. He told me that it is was one of the very 1st Gibson "Test Run" guitars he had Gibson build spec'd out after...
