• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

    Fender Stratocaster 1962 Fiesta Red

Yeah that bass drum skin is really killer! They definitely have a Gene Vincent vibe going on in that picture. The guy in the glasses is our boy and that is the Stratocaster pictured above. I'm told that the other Stratocaster player had one false leg which may be the reason for his stance. I'd...

    Fender Stratocaster 1962 Fiesta Red

Thank you! Yeah I think he added paper shims underneath the bridge saddles to raise the action :ROFLMAO:. I removed them and the neck shim and got the action just right. I love seeing the cavity edges, worm route, neck pocket, and nail holes looking just right on a Fiesta Strat like this. I...

    Fender Stratocaster 1962 Fiesta Red

I'm still getting over the jet lag from this amazing trip to London, England to buy a Fender Stratocaster 1962 Fiesta Red! I purchased the guitar from the brother of its original owner in the town of Bracknell outside of London. The guitar was played a lot with the original owner's band The...

Gibson Les Paul Standard 1960 Original Owner with tags

It definitely feels like magic! I have a few serial numbers to add to Julio's site but I've had a difficult time contacting him. Can anyone DM me a better contact than his email address? I didn't receive a reply the last time I used the email address on his site.

Gibson Les Paul Standard 1960 Original Owner with tags

The story of this Burst is the stuff dreams are made of. Rosie was given this Gibson Les Paul Standard 1960 with Gibsonette amp by her parents as a gift when it was brand new. She played it with her band The Rhythmettes (she must have been inspired by the amp!) for a few years before marriage...

    Near Mint 1954 Fender Stratocaster

This Fender Stratocaster 1954, from the first year of the model's production, has just emerged after being hidden away for decades by its previous owner. He was the tour manager for Arthur Prysock before his retirement and eventual passing earlier this year. He was not a guitar player, but he...

    Burst 9-1998

The Gruhn guitar is the true 9_1998. The Lou/Gil guitar had its serial number scratched off, was photographed and is in a book with the scratched serial, then had a new number applied long before the real 9_1998 was found.

1970 Fender Rosewood Telecaster and 1969 Gibson SG Standard

I just weighed this Rosewood Telecaster: 8lbs 12oz. Not too bad!

1970 Fender Rosewood Telecaster and 1969 Gibson SG Standard

Yeah the early ones were solid Rosewood with no weight relief. Those are crazy heavy. This is a later version that's chambered inside so it's not quite so heavy. I'll weigh it and post the weight but I believe it's under 10 lbs (not light for sure but not crazy heavy).

1970 Fender Rosewood Telecaster and 1969 Gibson SG Standard

I've just returned from another guitar safari to Boyds, Maryland outside of Washington DC to pick up this 1970 Fender Rosewood Telecaster and 1969 Gibson SG Standard! I've been looking for a good Rosewood Telecaster for a long time so I felt lucky to find this one. The seller has owned both of...

The ones that got away: 1960 Gibson ES-335 TD

Of the Gibson ES-335s I've had, the one that sticks out in my mind the most is this 1960 Gibson ES-335 TD. It appeared like a typical Sunburst '60 ES-335 with dot neck fretboard and stop bar tailpiece, but I found out as soon as I got it home that the pickups were factory out of phase from each...
